      There’s NO “guy” code for nicknames, but typically, nicknames are given by one’s buddies.
      However, if there is a nickname that you strongly feel befits you; there’s no rule that says you can’t let your buddies know that you’d like to be called by that nickname. BUT, you sort of have to leave it up to your buddies whether or not they want to use that nickname for you.
      I’ve had several nicknames throughout the years, and then one day a girl I was seeing, came up with a GREAT nickname for me; so, I started telling my friends I really liked this new nickname for me and soon, lo & behold…. it became my nickname! …and still is!
      And BTW….giving yourself a nickname is NO SCARIER than picking your own Avatar…now THAT’S scary!

      Lol, I think only guys who are full of themselves will make up their own nickname! The whole point of a nickname is for people to call you something that is funny or has meaning to them!
