Filed in Category Monthly Man Laws
You say its a bad thing cause christians keep the laws of God so they will not go to Hell. Then is it not a bad thing for you to keep the laws of man so you don’t go to Jail?

I have never said such a thing.
What I have said is that most religious people do not understand the “root” of the ethics, morals, values, laws, ect…their religion tells them what to do and what not to do then provides infested grounds for any understanding.
I hold complete and strict adherence to my own moral codes and the laws of the land based solely upon the comprehension of safety, integrity, maturity and a complete understanding that what I do always effects others. I have never received a speeding ticket, have no criminal record, I am 32 and never married but have never been pregnant, never had an abortion, do not smoke, do not use any drugs, pay all my taxes, open doors for others, kind to my neighbors, respectful to others, and save lives for a living. How many religious folks can say that!

In my opinion the church enforces the “laws” of itself, claiming that they are from God. Unfortunatly many christians dont see the distinction between their church, (Headed up by men who may very well worship god, but still make those laws that are perfectly falable). and their God who created the earth.
To me the church doesnt nessesrilly know what god would want for all of us, they have many amonst the ranks that are more concerned with their own well being and wealth, (yes the church is wealthy, interesting that they claim that the followers shouldnt be).

It is quite usual to confuse amorality with atheism. Atheism means a lack of belief in the supernatural, no more, no less. Many Atheists are quite moral; Secular humanists, for example. Others are purely hedonistic; neo-pagans, for example.

No, I “keep the laws of man” because murder, rape and child abuse are kind of bad things to do. If you need an ancient book to tell you that, you seriously need to be locked in a padded room.

Nope, I follow my morals. If it becomes a law of man that I must do something that would harm another person, such as fight in an unjust war then I will be warming a bench in jail.

I would rather do good to stay out of jail than to do so just to keep out of Hell. Jail is real. I know what to expect there.

True virtue is born out of a genuine desire to do good, not fear. Morality transcends law, whether it be written by that of God or Man.

Of course. I have absolutely NO morals of any kind.
When no one is looking, I like to work on my Nazi salute and rape children.

No, I follow them because in general they make for an orderly society. We are all better off if people obey the law (some caveats – there are at certain times and places unjust laws that should be broken)

Laws are usually based on common sense, why would I want to go against my own common sense…
…that would make me religious.

No I do it because its the right thing to do. I have my own personal set of morals and ethics you know.
