Dealer Sold Me A Car Without Catalytic Converter. Need Federal Law That Says Its Illegal…?
Filed in Category Guy Code
Ok i have read other people problems with the same thing. I recently like 4 weeks ago bought a infiniti g35 coupe and everything runs fine then the check engine light comes on. Since i bought the car as-is i knew it was my problem, but i took it back to the dealer anyway he cleared the code and told me it was my o2 sensor. So i took it Infiniti to have them check it out since they have a 8year emission warranty on the car, they checked it out and turns out the previous owner ran a str8 pipe and cut out the catalyic converter. The infiniti guys said it was illegal for them to sell me the car like that. I need the federal law that states its illegal so i can have them pay for the repairs.

Speak to an attorney, a dealership can’t sell a car that doesnt meet emissions.
most attorneys give free consultations, or better yet speak to a paralegal and you’ll get the info for dirt cheap or even free. you can also call the EPA (enviromental protection agency) and get info.

When you bought it “as is” YOU explicitly assumed the responsibility. You have no claim.
