      probably the whole…. bros before hoes etc, which goes about as far as… well it doesn’t go that far when it really comes down to it heh.

      The “guy code” is something like “the code of the West”. It’s how we have learned to get along that is the best for everyone. It varies from group to group and region to region, but some common themes are:
      1. A guy will not go out with a friend’s girlfriend, nor will he go out with a friend’s sister or “ex” until he has permission from the friend to do so.
      2. A guy will protect the sister or girlfriend of another guy friend, but not necessarily to the extent the other guy would.
      3. A guy will keep certain things to himself, such as seeing another guy talk to a woman other than his girlfriend.
      4. A guy will back up another guy’s BS story as much as his system of morality will allow.
      5. A guy is allowed certain latitude in behavior if pursuing a woman is involved. (i.e. You can be late if you got to talking to a hot girl.)
      6. A guy will help a friend out if he is reasonably capable of doing so.
      Don’t ask about the secret hand-shake.
