Is There Really A Guy Code When It Comes To Dating?
Filed in Category Guy Code
I caught my ex cheating on me. We were together for a few years. We are no longer together. I know all his friends pretty well, and his aquintances. There have been 3 of his friends that Ive been interested in the past year of us being split up, they said they were interested in me too, but over time nothing came about because of the “guy code”. I have not been physical with any of them. I cant help but like these guys because Ive known them for so long. Its not a revenge issue. Is the guy code an exscuse to not date me, or would a man really feel uncomfortable dating his buddy’s ex?

Some people, men or women feel uncomfortable dating the ex-es of friends. There is no formal code.

It happens all of the time, people get used to their initiall uncomfortness. Date who you want when you want and tell your ex to be happy.

Yes, my dear-YES. It happened to me. I liked this guy, but his friend liked me. But because his friend liked me-the guy that I liked wouldn’t touch me with a ten-foot pole. It makes sense, although not everyone wins. I mean, would you feel good, if your best buddy dated your ex? The Guy Code is essentially about being uncomfortable. Basically, you respect your friendship first. There’s more fish in the sea-just jump out of your existing lake.

yes the “guy code” does exist and your ex’s friends wont do anything with you because they respect your ex
