What Do You Think About Dan Brown, The Davinci Code Guy. Is That Stuff For Real?

Filed in Category Guy Code

Dan Brown’s good at Fiction. And he should stop pretending that’s not what most of that stuff is.
Take a look at the wikipedia page-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inaccuracie…
A lot of the early stuff is about the Christianity, but, he got a lot of the history wrong too.

      Yes and No.
Unconfirmable: all the secret society stuff (the arch conservative catholic group is a reality – I doubt psychopathic albino monks in the order, or club are real.)
Confirmable and known: there are many other testaments as legitimate and interesting as the ones commonly present in the collection that is ‘the new testament.’
Also Confirmable: the exclusion of those testaments and selection of the ones presented to us, by committee, for political reasons, for reasons of agreement. Others of these testaments state Jesus was an earthly man, who lived and died, and did not state he was resurrected and all the rest.
Also Confirmable: at the time Jesus was alive, there was a predominant ethos in all peoples surrounding the Mediterranean for mysticism, similar to the emotional climate of Anglo-European’s receptiveness to ‘Spiritism’ in the late 1800, early 1900’s – the seances, all the rest.
The Royal Blood theory is a theory, elaborately worked out in a book Brown Cited, and written by a Frenchman with an aristocratic title (the theory was that Christ’s offspring became the royal line of, natch, France.)
THe history channel sometimes repeats its program on the other testaments. I find this the most interesting, and those are known and real writings, most Bible scholars are at least aware of them,

There are so many things coming up everyday about Jesus and his Apostles, you never know what to belief.
To me, most of it was made up to fit the minds of the people who were not well educated at that time. So that they could understand.
Now, the novels are just novels, don´t get even more confused.
Wouldn´t it have been great to have been there and see what Jesus really said, how he acted and how normal or not his life was?
I believe in God, but I´m not a Christian, not that I don´t respect Jesus for having such power over the people he was around and for his wisdom. It´s a pity about the Church, though. They took something good and made a mess out of it over so many years!

NO! That’s why it’s called ‘fiction’.
